Anwar Nasution Anwar Nasution is Dean and Professor at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Indonesia since February 1998 and Consultant at the Centre for Policy and Implementation Studies (CPIS). He is the Chairman of the National Committee for Indonesia, Financial Development, Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) since 1995. Since March 1998, he is also Vice-Chairman for International Relations of the Indonesia Economists Association (ISEI). In June 1999, he was appointed acting chief of the Bank Indonesia) after its governor Sjabril Sabirin was declared a suspect in the Bank Bali scandal. He resigned his position on November 15th, 2000,while being nominated to as one of the four governors of the Central Bank. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies published by the Department of Ecokok. Between 1984 and 1995, he was Economic Advisor to the Minister for Cooperatives of Indonesia. Anwar Nasution holds a Ph.D in Economics from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts. In 1987, he attended the Twentieth Regular Course at the Lemhannas - the Indonesian National Defence Institute - in Jakarta.
