Mai Chao-cheng Mai Chao-cheng was born in 1943 in Taiwan. He got his PhD in Economics from Texas University in May 1976. He currently heads the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research since 1996. He was President of Taiwan Economic Association (1996-1997) and taught economics in several universities in Taiwan, including National Chengchi University and National Taiwan University.
