Le Dang Doanh

President of Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM), Hanoi.

Born in 1942 in Hanoi, Le Dang Doanh was graduated in German Democratic Republic from the Technical University of Leuna-Merseburg in 1967 and went to Moscow in 1984 for post-graduated studies at the Academy of National Economy.

From 1968 to 1978, he served as Expert of the Office of the Government, and began his carreer in the CIEM as Head of Department. 1987-88, was senior expert of the Central Committee of the CPV and from 1988 to 1990, economic adviser at the Office of the General Secretary of the CPV, Nguyen van Linh. In 1991, was appointed vice-president of the CIEM and vice-minister, and president of the CIEM since 1993.
