Wolfang Bertelsmeier Wolfgang Bertelsmeier has a Master's Degree in Business Administration, Economics and Banking from Frankfurt Univesity. He also studied at the Université de Poitiers, France and received a “Diplôme d’Etudes Francaises”. After graduation he worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Germany. He then joined Deutsche Entwicklungs Gesellschaft (DEG) as a project officer in the Latin America Department. before moving to the World Bank in May 1976 where he held a number of positions, including Financial Analyst in the Industrial Project and Energy Departments. In 1987, he was appointed Senior Financial Analyst to the Asia Department, Industry and Energy Operation Division. Wolfang Bertelsmeier joined IFC as a Senior Investment Officer in October1990. He was appointed IFC’s Regional Representative for West and Central Africa, based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. In August 1994, he returned to IFC' headquarters in Washington to be thePrincipal Investment Officer fo th Agribusiness Department. In this capacity, he became involved in IFC’s activities in Southeast Asia, including projects in Vietnam. Wolfang Bertelsmeier was appointed in September 1997 as IFC’s First Resident Representative for Vietnam. see interview Spring 2000 on Vietnam
