Ahmad Faruqui Ahamd Faruqui is a fellow of the American Institute of International Studies and a member of Economists Allied for Arms Reduction. An economist specializing in defense and energy analysis, he has recently authored Rethinking the National Security of Pakistan, Ashgate Publishing, 2002 forthcoming. A native of Pakistan, he graduated from the University of Karachi in 1974, with a Gold Medal. After teaching at that University for one year, he moved to the United States. He holds a Ph. D. from the University of California, Davis, where he served as a Regents Fellow. Dr. Faruqui has published several papers on the Pakistan's national security problems, in journals such as Defense Analysis, RUSI Journal, Strategic Review, and the Journal of Conflict, Security and Development. He has also written extensively on energy issues in the United States. | |||
