Dato' Noor Adlan

Dato' Noor Adlan was born in December 1939 at Perak (Malaysia). He joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia, as assistant secretary in 1963. From 1965 to 1967, he is Second Secretary at the Embassy of Malaysia at Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). From 1967 to 1971, he is councellor at the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the UN in New York. He is in 1974 Deputy High Commissioner in Australia and is appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Korea in 1979, to the Kingdom of Jordan in 1982, Between 1983 and 1986, he is Deputy Secretary-General For Economic Affairs at the Minsitry of Foreign Affairs. In 1986, he becomes the Malaysian Ambassador to the European Economic Community, Belgium and concurrently accredited to Luxembourg. From 1990 to 1995, he is Ambassador to China, concurrently accredited to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. From 1995 to 1997, he is Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines. He is then seconded to the APEC secretariat as deputy Executive Director, then Executive Director in 1997/1998.
